Checking In
Hi everyone! It’s been a minute since I’ve written a blog post, so I thought it might be nice to give an update on what has happened these past few months.
My First Virtual Markets
To start things off, I participated in my very first virtual market this past May! The Darksome Art & Crafts Market had an incredible spooky spring-themed online market: Out of the Crypt. I was honored to be accepted, and it was so much fun to connect with other gothic creatives from across the country. I cannot thank Lindsay enough for organizing such a huge event. Her hard work, passion, and dedication did not go unnoticed. I had such a good time, that I even participated in the next market: Summer Darkness!
Mini Print Club
My Mini Print Club is here! Every month, members will receive a small linocut print in the mail from me! I’ve had this idea for a while, and I’m excited to finally make it happen. Each linocut is printed in black on handmade Indian cotton rag paper of various colors, and there will be a different print every month. Prints are shipped out during the first week, and previous designs can be purchased through my shop. It’s open worldwide, so sign up through my Ko-fi (which I now have, by the way).
In Roswell
In addition to online festivities, I’ve also been very busy in my day-to-day life. I am once again a vendor at the Roswell Farmers and Artisans Market this season, and it’s already been a blast. It’s so good to see familiar faces, and to meet new ones too! I’ll be there the last weekend of every month, from April to November - I’m particularly looking forward to Halloweekend.
While I’ve been connecting with the local community at my markets, I’ve also been taking another pottery class at the Art Center West. I cannot wait to show you all of my new projects! I may have to keep some pieces for myself.
For her birthday, my sister & I got matching tattoos that I designed of our family’s birth flowers. It’s about time I had my own artwork permanently etched into my skin! I love how they turned out.
I’ve also become a brand ambassador for J. Drew Silvers, a talented carpenter based in Alpharetta (which is just down the street from us!). He creates the most incredible wood panels & shelves, and I’ve been having a blast painting, carving, and burning them. Be sure to check out my Instagram to see more of what I’ve been working on, and take a look at his unfinished line, J. Drew + You, to make masterpieces of your own!
& Beyond
Aside from my art business affairs, I’ve made sure to take time to relax, reflect, and focus a bit on my mental health. My husband & I were fortunate enough to travel to Alaska to visit my family in May, and we were lucky to have some of our friends come along with us! They were on their honeymoon, and I was honored to be a part of their wedding in the Appalachian mountains. Alaska is one of the most beautiful places on this planet, and I’m already yearning to go back. Here’s a little collection of photos from our trip:
A New Friend
We also have a new member of the family! Meet Bao, our sweet Easter baby. We found him on the streets of South Georgia, and immediately gave him a new home. He was only four weeks old when we took him in, so there were lots of long nights caring for him. He’s already grown so much in the eight (08) weeks we’ve had him! Now, he’s a playful, rambunctious little kitten that absolutely loves his older brother, Ganon.
